Natural Tunnel State Park celebrates International Colorblindness Awareness Month, holds EnChroma colorblind glasses giveaway

DUFFIELD, VA – In honor of International Colorblind Awareness Month, Natural Tunnel State Park has partnered with EnChroma to give away two pairs of outdoor colorblind glasses with deutan (green sensitivity) lenses. The glasses are scientifically proven to stimulate the brain’s color processing center and enhance color vision for those with deutan color vision deficiency.

The giveaway is being conducted on the park’s Facebook page (facebook.com/vaspnaturaltunnel) through Wednesday, Sept. 27. To participate in the giveaway, contestants must not wear or need prescription glasses for other vision issues besides reading or driving (they can wear contact lenses).

To enter, contestants must take the free colorblind test at EnChroma.com and comment on the park’s Facebook post about the giveaway, explaining what part of the park they would be most excited to see if they won.

Two winners will be randomly selected on Thursday, Sept. 28, and informed on Facebook. The winners will be required to submit their EnChroma colorblind test results to the park to receive the glasses.

This giveaway isn’t the first time Natural Tunnel has partnered with EnChroma. In June, the park unveiled its new EnChroma viewfinder. It’s available year-round at the gazebo and is equipped with EnChroma lenses designed to help those with red-green color vision deficiency experience colors.

The park also offers six pairs of EnChroma color-enhancing glasses for its outdoor guided programs (three for protan/red sensitivity and three for deutan/green sensitivity).
